Stop shopping Urban Outfitters for fad-heavy
accessories and instead discover Anne Maa. Her ever-
evolving one-of-a-kind designs—many pieces

Fashionable Gems Anne Maa
started designing jewelry two
years ago after a career in
fashion design and it shows in
her use of shapes, colors and
materials. If you are looking for
cutesy, keep surfing. These
designs reek of
class and modernity. Most pieces incorporate semi-
precious stones that compliment current fashion trends. A
special feature of the site is the recommendation service
so you won’t forget to order a pair of earrings that go
with the necklace. Be sure to read her new blog,
Coolstones, to get a peek at works-in-progress.
The Bubbly
Anne Maa, SoCal-based
jewelry designer, has
all the flair of a modern
artist. Her designs are
hip, offbeat, and
creative. Yet, they
maintain the necessary
classiness for urbanites,
uptown or downtown,
young and old. Maa's
jewelry designs are for
the woman whose fashion taste is always up-to-date,
while never becoming a slave to passing trends.
The Bag Lady
A friend of mine showed up sporting the most gorgeous
turquoise ring the other day. She's been wearing
semi-precious stones for years (long before they became
'cool' again), and always looks great. She inspired me to go
looking for something similar, and when I came across
these rings from Anne Maa Designs, it was love at first
sight. Each piece is handmade and has a wonderful
old-world charm about it. The chunky pieces will
definitely grab attention, and they'll set off a bohemian
look perfectly.

Gorgeous is just one of
complements I can give to these
incredible pieces of
jewelry.  My boyfriend didn't ask me the big "M" question
yet... I think this beautiful AQUA QUARTZ STERLING
WIRE RING is going to be the best diplomatic way to
accelerate the deal :) Don't you think? I'll keep you

Anne Maa's jewelry designs exude a
certain tactile sensuality. They beg to
be touched.  Her website showcases
her jewelry with crisp, clear images
of gemstones and pearls placed in
silver and gold frames, reminding me
of an abstract art exhibit. I can look at any one of her
pieces close up and envision it as a painting. Maa’s
collection consists of necklaces, bracelets, earrings and
unique cocktail rings.
It’s as though the beauty of stone and its texture, shape
and color inspire her jewelry designs. The setting gently
compliments without overpowering. She has the ability to
showcase gemstones, beads and pearls beautifully in a
minimalistic setting.
Juniper Designs-Athena Says
Anne Maa's background in fashion design is clear in her
divinely elegant, but ever so wearable collections.
Classic elements combine in an utterly modern way -
the result is jewelry that is not only incredibly unique,
but above the rush of trends; pieces are truly timeless.

Anne Maa's elegant take on
the cocktail ring features a
rare peridot nugget wrapped
in 14k gold filled wire.  Each
stone is unique.  Simply
gorgeous.
If for some insane reason, the man you woke up next
to this morning did not shower you with myriad of
expressions of his undying love, affection and willing
monogamy, do not panic.  Do not cry.  Simply take
matters into your own hands.
Click over pronto to Anne Maa Designs, featuring the
work of a phenomenal SoCal fashion designser turned
jewelry artist.  She handcrafts the sort of one-of-a-kind
baubles that can make even a woman scorned feel
pretty and perky all day long.

Her rings in particular are wonderful, like the ones set
around semi-precious stones like iolite (shown here)
and pink quartz.  But I also love the chunky, funky
bracelets, like this green seafoam chalcedony piece.

In fact, I'm thinking you should buy more then one.
Like one for each month of pregnancy you've been
through.

Anne’s best jewelry tip?  Try jewelry that you like but
that you think is "not you."  If you’re a silver person
who likes the looks of a gold piece, or if you like a
bold piece and only wear less showy items, go for it.
Jewelry shouldn’t be too serious–it should be fun.
For a delicate, feminine
look, wear the Mossy Green
Apatite Ring alone, says
designer Anne Maa.  But for
a little more spark, you can
stack this simple ring with
another style.

...I was very happy to stumble across Anne Maa’s most
recent collection, “Metal“, both because I love the
new collection and because she’s a designer whose
work I love to watch. She does a great job of
designing pieces that are unique and clearly thought
out, but also incredibly wearable. All of the pieces in
“Metal” are hand-sculpted, then cast in sterling silver -
so, basically, you get to wear a piece of art all day.

My favorite piece from her new collection is the set of
stacking rings, which I can imagine wearing one at a
time for work, or all together when I’m going out. It
could be my token piece of “cool”…in my day job,
sadly, I don’t get many opportunities to be all that
cool. I’m also loving the Twig bracelet, which is a
fabulous alternative to the bamboo bangles I’m seeing
everywhere - I can get the look without feeling like I
have the same bracelet everyone else is wearing. Plus,
it just has such a fabulous organic feel…gorgeous.

From her main collection, I adore all of her cocktail
rings - they just have such a great combination of
classic bling and modern elegance. Check them all
out, but my favorites are the moss aquamarine and the
iolite…delish!
See Pretty Things - A Little Fold and Bling
I love a ring that makes you
do more than a double take!
Anne Maa Designs is one of
my favorite designs and she
has created a ring within her
Limited Edition that begs to
be taken notice.
I love that this Sterling Silver ring has a "folded
effect" that makes the ring look like it has a ruffle or
a gathering. I also love the character that it is evident
in the silver which gives it an antiqued look and
makes it an instant heirloom that you'll be excited to
pass down (but not too soon since you look way to
fab to even think about it)...

If I would be asked to describe Anne Maa's jewelry
concoctions in two words, it would be SIMPLY
IRRESISTIBLE! That was actually what I blurted out at
the onset of visiting her assortment of rings, earrings,
necklaces, and bracelets on
www.annemaadesigns.com. There are a number of
reasons why her collection would make your eye
pop, your jaws drop and make you just want to go
and grab one.

There is something about Anne Maa Designs that
makes you identify. It has an intensity that melds with
and enhances your character, at the same time. It has
an effect that grounds you to your senses despite
life's up-to-datedness, somewhat recreating a feeling
of being repeatedly reborn.

Each design is an awe-inspiring fusion
of the primitive and the contemporary. It seems as
though each piece is a portal to time immemorial that
concurrently makes you go back and leave the past
behind.

Anne Maa Designs has a style that spans and
embraces the earth's provenance. Its metal and
stalactite jewelry, in particular, are infused with an
essence of evolution. The collection manifests
imperfections, irregularities and even the fingerprints
of the designer as though paying homage to and
celebrating the natural process of the earth's
development, giving each piece an enigma that is
distinct.
